With his shaved head and begging bowl the new kid is an automatic target for the bully boys of Edward Rucher High, an easy mark for their casual cruelty. Watching this, Justin would gladly stay as far from the newcomer as possible, until their economics teacher pairs them for a project and he finds himself becoming fascinated by the kid the others mock as "Buddha Boy". The thing is, friendship with an outcast always carries a price, and soon Justin must decide if he can stay silent in the face of what he knows. A scorching portrait of contemporary high school life, featuring a character listeners will never forget. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Spencer Murphy, the Full Cast Family. Rotella: Catalogue Raisonné: Volume Two 1962-1973

The second volume of a more extensive systematic cataloguing project of the artist's body of work. In this volume, the scholarly analysis and verification are carried out on works made between 1962 and 1973, when Rotella consolidated his décollage practice in its most graphic and pop aspects and began exploring photomechanical image reproduction techniques. He used photo emulsion on canvas and the artypo, up to defining a more automatic and immediate process in his effaçages and frottages. Across a chronological development, the Catalogue highlights the various stages that have distinguished his practice, thus allowing an inclusive and documented reading of this period. Starting from advertising images regarding cinema or products of mass consumption, Rotella continued with his experiments on décollage, now no longer Informel but rather influenced by new icons of mass society. The works made in the early 1960s were shown at important international events attentive to the most innovative contemporary trends, including "New Realists" (New York, Sidney Janis Gallery, 1962) and the 32. Venice Biennale in 1964. At both, Rotella's works were compared to Pop Art, especially from the US, which draws upon an imagery more akin to the Italian artist's. His interest in the printing process also grew at this time: this gave life to his first photo emulsions on canvas - obtained by projecting the selected image on primed canvas - and then the artypos. The latter are large sheets of paper used to calibrate the printing machines and then normally discarded, of which Rotella appropriates to make artworks characterized by casual image overlappings. In line with the libertarian and licentious principles of the 1968 movement, the artist focused on glossy magazines for details, often laden with powerful eroticism, for his effaçages and frottages, resulting from the use of solvent on newspaper cut-outs.

Tel Aviv Noir , Hörbuch, Digital, 1, 526min

Akashic Books continues its groundbreaking series of original noir anthologies, launched with the summer '04 award-winning best seller Brooklyn Noir. Each book is comprised of all-new stories, each one set in a distinct neighborhood or location within the respective city. For Tel Aviv Noir, Etgar Keret and Assaf Gavron have masterfully assembled some of Israel's top contemporary writers into a compulsively readable collection. From the introduction by Etgar Keret: "In spite of its outwardly warm and polite exterior, Tel Aviv has quite a bit to hide. At any club, most of the people dancing around you to the sounds of a deep-house hit dedicated to peace and love have undergone extensive automatic-weapons training and a hand-grenade tutorial... The workers washing the dishes in the fluorescent-lit kitchen of that same club are Eritrean refugees who have crossed the Egyptian border illegally, along with a group of bedouins smuggling some high-quality hash, which the deejay will soon be smoking on his little podium, right by the busy dance floor filled with drunks, coked-up lawyers, and Ukrainian call girls whose pimp keeps their passports in a safe two streets away. Don't get me wrong - Tel Aviv is a lovely, safe city. Most of the time, for most of its inhabitants. But the stories in this collection describe what happens the rest of the time, to the rest of its inhabitants. From one last cup of coffee at a caf targeted by a suicide bomber, through repeat visits from a Yiddish-speaking ghost, to an organized tour of mythological crime scenes that goes terribly wrong, the stories of Tel Aviv Noir reveal the concealed, scarred face of this city that we love so much." Featuring brand-new stories by: Etgar Keret, Gadi Taub, Lavie Tidhar, Deakla Keydar, Matan Hermoni, Julia Fermentto, Gon Ben Ari, Shimon Adaf, Alex Epstein, Antonio Ungar, Gai Ad, Assaf Gavron, Silje Bekeng, and Yoav Katz. 1. Language: English. Narrator: Jonathan Davis, Elizabeth Evans, Victor Bevine, Jennifer Van Dyck, Suzanne Toren, Jeff Woodman. High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Mitsubishi 3G8 engine is a range of three cylinder powerplant from Mitsubishi Motors, introduced in the fifth generation of their Mitsubishi Minica kei car. In common with other contemporary engines in the class, it could be specified with many advanced technologies despite its diminutive size, including multi-valve cylinder heads and double overhead camshafts. The top-of-the- line Dangan ZZ variant was also the first kei car to benefit from turbocharging, and in 1989 became the world's first production car to feature five valves per cylinder, ahead of similar developments by Bugatti, Audi and Ferrari. Its 3G81 three cylinder engine has a displacement of 548 cubic centimetres and features three intake valves and two exhaust valves incorporated into each cylinder. The valves are controlled by twin overhead camshafts through roller cam followers on finger rockers with hydraulic automatic lash adjusters. Gasoline is electronically injected through triple-jet nozzles (also a technological first).

This book is focused on fuzzy logic application on the process automatic default client detection from the bank's credit risk management point of view. Based on contemporary Credit Risk Management information system analysis operating on manual default/non-default interpretation basis, the author suggests changing approach in a loan client evaluation and tried to automatize the process. Therefore static classification of different events must be put into wider context. The analysis proved, that the best solution is to change the whole model. Behavioral model has been employed in order to analyze discriminatory power of client related variables. Each significant variable has been taken into account in the transformation matrix setting up process. For further usage, each calculation is explained very clearly so it might be rewritten into the computer code right away. As a result, analysis shows that client behavioral is different even on such small market as is in the Czech Republic. Although the final results was not accurate enough to declare the methodology exact, the accuracy still might be considerably improved.

Segmentation-free approach with texture analysis forms the basis of object recognition and classification in several domains, one of these domains is old Arabic manuscript recognition. The basis of this approach is to analyze the texture structure of the document image independent from its content, author writing style...etc. The main objective is to propose an automatic system for recognizing and annotating the undated old Arabic document manuscripts in 4 different ages: Contemporary (Modern), Ottoman, Mamluk, and ages before Mamluk. The system has been tested by 129 different Arabic manuscripts documents taken from Dar Al-Kotob Al-Masria Library and Leiden University Arabic manuscript collections. The results yield to 95.7% correct annotation for dated Arabic manuscript and 92.3 % for undated Arabic manuscripts.
